What is niacinamide?

The Chill Cream (2% Niacidamide)

Niacinamide is one of the most widely used forms of the B vitamin. It is a precursor of the coenzymes nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP), both of which are essential for skin cell repair and regeneration processes. Niacinamide provides countless benefits to the skin, such as aiding DNA repair and skin homeostasis. Because it is stable and water-soluble, niacinamide can be easily blended into skin care and cosmetic products. Bove Health uses an improved form of niacinamide that contains significantly less nicotinic acid, a substance associated with the unpleasant sensation of heat.

Benefits of niacinamide

Niacinamide works on a wide range of skin problems, including acne, pimples and uneven skin tone. Research shows that niacinamide helps protect the skin against UV rays, making it ideal for use during exposure to sunlight.

1.Skin tone

A study by the British Journal of Dermatology concluded that niacinamide is an effective skin lightening compound. Niacinamide inhibits the transfer of melanosomes from melanocytes to keratinocytes, thereby reducing hyperpigmentation and balancing uneven skin tone.

Protection and prevention

Research shows that niacinamide is a very potent and well-tolerated ingredient that helps prevent UV damage and provides protection against other environmental aggressors.

Niacinamide combats the effects of urban pollution by strengthening the skin barrier, balancing uneven skin tones and reducing discolouration. Niacinamide protects skin against moisture loss, increases cell viability and minimises damage caused by water pollution and unfiltered ultraviolet light from the sun.

DNA repair

Niacinamide has been shown to have reparative qualities. Topical niacinamide aids DNA repair by supplying cells with the energy needed by enzymes to unwind the DNA strand, replenish nucleosides and rewind the strand. This process helps repair damage caused by UV exposure and other environmental threats.

4.Anti-ageing

Exposure to unfiltered sunlight is associated with premature signs of skin ageing. NAD and NADP, two coenzymes that play a vital role in cell metabolism, are also depleted as we age. Niacinamide stimulates collagen synthesis, which helps the skin retain its elasticity and firmness, thereby decreasing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Studies have indicated that people reported seeing significant results within 8 to 12 weeks.

5.Stain care

Niacinamide regulates sebum production, thus preventing the formation of blackheads, pimples, acne and enlarged pores. It also reduces inflammation, thus minimising redness caused by skin lesions. acne and the eczema.

How often should I use niacinamide?

Niacinamide can be used twice daily on all skin types, including sensitive, oily or acne-prone skin. Apply to cleansed skin in the morning and evening: The Chill Cream. Since it protects the skin against moisture loss and damage caused by UV rays and atmospheric pollution, it is especially recommended for use during combined daytime and nighttime use to keep the skin moisturised and protected.
