5 Ways to Buy CBD Safely

Did you know that not all CBD products are the same?

  • Step 1. Always request the results of laboratory tests.
  • Step 2. Read the label to find out the amount of active cannabinoids in the products.
  • Step 3. Choose Broad Spectrum CBD extract instead of CBD isolate.
  • Step 4. Start slowly and systematically with a consistent daily amount.
  • Step 5. Monitor your results and follow up on a daily basis.

Step 1. Always request the results of laboratory tests.

Our number one tip is to always request product test results from an independent third-party laboratory (meaning that the laboratory is not owned and operated by the company itself, to ensure unbiased results).

Why?

Consumers should be able to access the company's test results on the potency of cannabinoids and terpenes, pesticides (including glyphosate), residual solvents, heavy metals and bacteria.

You can find all our laboratory analysis of our CBD extracts:

Step 2. Read the label to find out the amount of active cannabinoids in the products.

Pay special attention to the product labelling and look for the total content of cannabinoids (CBD, CBG) and terpenes in the product.

Is the suggested amount (in milligrams) of CBD listed on the bottle?

Make sure the suggested amount listed is total cannabinoids or CBD or CBG, not just hemp oil. There are many misleading products on the market that consist of hemp seed oil, not hemp extract, which does not contain any cannabinoids or terpenes.

Fun fact! A study today announced the results of a comprehensive review of the cannabidiol (CBD) products they tested throughout 2021. Aiming to understand whether CBD products provide the amount of CBD advertised, the results found that more than half (60%) of the CBD products submitted for testing did not match their labels by more than 10%.

Among the findings, the company found that 28% of the products received the worst grade (F) for having CBD levels that differed from the label by more than 30%. On average, the CBD content of the products differed from the label by almost 25 per cent and two of them contained no CBD at all. Of the 97 products that were advertised as having a broad or full CBD spectrum, 44% were mislabelled. In the beverages, topicals and edibles categories, more products scored a 0 than a 10.

Step 3. Choose Broad Spectrum CBD extract instead of CBD isolate.

Although CBD is highly advertised, evidence suggests that, for optimal results, you should choose a whole plant extract that contains high levels of CBD, as well as cannabinoids (CBG, CBN...) and minor terpenes that make CBD more effective.

Why?

Research shows that cannabinoids work best together in synergy, meaning that the properties of CBD are magnified when combined with other cannabinoids and active plant molecules (this is called the "synergistic effect").

Step 4. Start slowly and systematically with a consistent daily amount.

Everyone experiences CBD and cannabinoids differently, so there is no "standard suggested amount" that works for everyone. start with a small amount (such as 10-15 milligrams) twice a day.

CBD and cannabinoids are cumulative, which means it takes time for your body to adjust. We recommend trying a small amount in the morning, midday and evening. The effects are individualised.

Step 5. Monitor your results and follow up on a daily basis.

Does your body feel different, do you sleep better, do you have more energy during the day, do you have less negative thoughts? Everyone is different, so CBD may make you sleepy or wake you up, depending on your needs.

Use the products consistently and daily, supported by a healthy Mediterranean, omega-3 rich diet and lifestyle that includes plenty of water, daily exercise, organic and mindful eating, quality sleep and lots of emotional support. For some people, it can be helpful to manage what you don't feel.
